Today we have the pleasure to have Aphrodite here on Goathead.

GHR: What inspired you to start writing music?

Aphrodite: I’ve always loved music it was my escape growing up. It gave me a sense of freedom I didn’t always have in my environment. Writing became a way for me to process what I was going through and it turned into something really healing. Over time it shifted from just an outlet into something I feel deeply called to do.

GHR: Can you tell us about your experience performing live and your most memorable moment?

Aphrodite: I feel completely drawn to the stage. Every time I’m around one I have this urge to get up there and perform it just feels natural to me. There’s definitely anxiety that comes with it but pushing through that has been one of the most rewarding parts. Those moments after performing when I realize I overcame that fear are always the most powerful. I know I’m meant to be up there.

GHR: What is your songwriting process like?

Aphrodite: My process is very emotion driven. It usually starts with a feeling or a random idea. Sometimes it’s a melody sometimes a concept sometimes just energy. I’ll build around a beat or sound and let whatever comes naturally flow out. I try not to overthink it I let the music guide me.

GHR: What motivates you to create music and bring awareness to different situations?

Aphrodite: I’ve been through a lot and I feel like I carry perspectives that can really connect with people. Music is how I translate those experiences into something others can feel and understand. I also believe I have a strong presence and the ability to reach people on a deeper level. I feel very aligned with my purpose and that drives me to keep creating and sharing.

GHR: Can you share insights into your upcoming projects?

Aphrodite: I’m currently working on a new series called Gaia After Dark where I’ll be interviewing creatives artists producers actors and having deeper more raw conversations. There’s also a darker conceptual spin off called Interviews with the Devil which explores human behavior and psychology through intense thought provoking interactions.

On the music side I’m working on new material including a dark pop track that I’m looking to feature a male artist on. It’s a new direction that really captures my sound and energy.
