From Journals to Songs: Halle Shares Her Journey as an Emerging Star and Prepares for a 2025 Album Drop

Today we have the pleasure to have Halle on board with a special Q&A!
GHR: Hi Halle, great to have you here! What inspired you to start writing music?
Halle: Thank you so much for having me Goathead. When I was younger, I would always write down my emotions or how I was feeling in long paragraphs. I also always loved blasting music in the car and belting out Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and Shakira, so it felt natural for me to combine the two and create my little song demos. My dad's side of the family has a background in music, so he was always encouraging me to make music a part of my daily life.

GHR: Can you tell us more about your experience performing live at gigs and what was the most memorable experience you had?
Halle: I have never performed at a gig before, but I definitely have hopes to in the future with the music I’m working on right now. I have, however, performed at singing competitions like Access Broadway, where I won with a cover of “She Used to Be Mine.” That was such a great memory since it was my first solo performance at that competition.
GHR: How is your process of songwriting set around?
Halle: I usually find a beat that matches my vibe or what I like to listen to, and I write to it. Sometimes I get a burst of inspiration and jot things down in my notes app, but most of the time, I start with the beat, feel the emotion it brings out, and connect it to my life—who I am at that moment and how I’d handle a conflict or experience. For example, with “Beautiful Nightmare,” I wrote about a haunting, lingering past relationship that I no longer had ties to but the other person still did. On the other hand, “Make Him Mine” is about what it truly feels like to fall in love with someone and how you can’t wait to call them yours. Both songs are very raw emotionally for me, and “Make Him Mine” is my first love song.

GHR: What motivates you to create music and bring awareness to different situations through your songs?
Halle: Everyone around me motivates me to make music. I love connecting with others, especially with my listeners, on a deeper level because we’re all human at the end of the day. I know that when we experience emotions, the first thing we often do is turn to music. For example, at birthday parties, we have the “Happy Birthday” song, and even countries have national anthems to show their pride. Music is life—it’s how I express myself, and it’s how I connect with others.
GHR: Could you share some insights into your next projects?
Halle: I’m very excited to announce that my first full album is in the works and set to be released in 2025. I’ll be starting it soon with my incredible producer, Jenson Collier, and the beats will be fully created by Matthew May! I’ve written all the songs, harmonies, adlibs, and melodies, and now they’re ready to be recorded. I hope my supporters will love it and that it’ll help take my career to the next level, so I can keep sharing more music with the world.
