A creative journey from drums to EDM, driven by intuition and joy.
Today we have the pleasure to have DJ Cards here on Goathead.
GHR: Nice to have you here.
DJ Cards: Thank you for having me.
GHR: What inspired you to start writing music?
DJ Cards: I’ve always had a creative side. With respect to music, I played drums for years and tinkered with keyboards/synthesizers. But in the past few years, I’ve developed a love of electronic dance music. And I had a feeling I’d be competent at creating some myself once I had the time. Writing lyrics was never something I dreamed of- but now that I’m “forced” to write them, (in a way), I am finding that I enjoy the process. Putting it all together is really fun!
GHR: Can you tell us more about your experience performing live at gigs and what was the most memorable experience you had?
DJ Cards: Have not performed any live gigs yet. I’ve been focused on producing EDM- original music. Although I’m determined to start remixing. I have so many ideas- but not enough time!
GHR: How is your process of songwriting set around?
DJ Cards: I don’t have a set formula so to speak. I really just use my intuition and trust it.
GHR: What motivates you to create music and bring awareness to different situations through your songs?
DJ Cards: I was born a happy person and still am at 52 years of age. Despite an agonizing divorce and family deaths and life’s punches that we all endure, nothing has stopped me from enjoying life every day. I absolutely love spreading joy, humor- and now music, to help inspire others- or even just to give them a few moments to enjoy, with music that elevates and creates happiness.
GHR: Could you share some insights into your next projects?
DJ Cards: I really want to work on remixing! I have some cool ideas up my sleeve.
