The frontman and songwriter opens up about live shows, his creative process, and what’s coming next.

Today we have the pleasure to have Jay of Golden Company here on Goathead.
GHR: What inspired you to start writing music?
Jay: I remember writing little silly songs when I was super young. Probably just my love for music.
GHR: Can you tell us more about performing live—and what’s been your most memorable experience so far?

Jay: I’ve played just about every bar in the New Brunswick area, but the most memorable moment was busking on the wharf in Shediac as the sun set. No better stage.
GHR: How would you describe your songwriting process?

Jay: A pen, a notebook, and an idea—or a feeling.
GHR: What motivates you to create music and spread awareness through your songs?
Jay: A lot of inspiration comes from friends who want to write something together. I like to write songs that send out a positive message—a good spell, as I like to call it.
GHR: Could you share some insight into your upcoming projects?
Jay: Our debut single “Alcohol” drops digitally on June 13th. A few more singles will follow, leading to an album by the end of the year.
Don't forget to follow Golden Company on Instgram and be ready for their upcoming single Alcohol, releasing on June 13th
