Today we have the pleasure to have Denny Blair here on Goathead.

From late-night conversations and karaoke sets to powerful lyrics that challenge injustice, Denny Blair is forging his path with The Kaleidoscope Life—a project shaped by empathy, passion, and a deep drive for truth. His upcoming single Triple Threat is the next bold step in that journey.

GHR: What first drew you to writing and making music?

Denny Blair: Writing songs has always been a deep source of inspiration for me. It’s not just the melodies—it’s the connection it creates. When I write, I’m not only expressing my own emotions, but channeling the shared experiences of others. Music helped me get through my hardest times. And I’ve seen its power to help others too—friends, strangers, anyone going through something heavy. Sometimes just hearing the right song lifts a burden, even if only for a moment. That’s why I do this. To offer that same sense of comfort to someone else.

GHR: What’s been your most memorable live performance so far?

Denny Blair:I haven’t done any formal gigs yet—unless karaoke counts. But one night I sang “Last Dance with Mary Jane” by Tom Petty at a bar, and the crowd went wild. A lot of people came up to me afterward, and honestly, that moment stuck. It reminded me I could move people. That confidence hasn’t left me since.

GHR: What’s your songwriting process like?

Denny Blair:It always starts with a spark, something I feel deeply, something I’ve seen or lived. I let it sit and grow in my mind. Lyrics usually come first, because for me it’s about storytelling. I want every word to count. Once I’ve built that lyrical base, I start playing with melodies. I’m drawn to folk, blues, and rock—sounds that carry weight. My goal is always the same: to create music that feels personal but speaks to everyone.

GHR: What role does music play in your life, especially when it comes to making a difference?

Denny Blair: Music is my way of standing up for what’s right. I’ve always felt a strong sense of justice, and songwriting is how I channel that. Whether I’m writing about environmental collapse or inequality, I see music as a way to push people to think, feel, and act. It’s a tool for awakening. My hope is that my music not only moves people emotionally—but moves them toward action. We all have a part to play, and this is mine.

GHR: Tell us about your single, Triple Threat.

Denny Blair:It’s about the three biggest challenges I see today—our environment, social injustice, and the erosion of personal freedom. And I believe a lot of these problems stem from broken systems, especially governments that don’t serve their people. Triple Threat is a call to action. Sonically, it’s a little heavier, more driving. You’ll hear that mix of folk, rock, and blues, but with real urgency behind it. The chorus hits hard, and I didn’t hold back lyrically. I want people to feel empowered—not defeated—and to realize they can be part of the solution. This might be my most important work yet.
